Achieving the goals of a Public Speaker is difficult.
Anyone who is going to speak to a group must have specific goals in mind. You need to know what you are trying to achieve, what the audience would like to hear and what you want to get out of the speaking experience.

Whenever you speak to people, the goals you are attempting to achieve are to verbally express your thoughts and ideas, satisfy the listener or audience, and get rewards from the process.
Overcoming the fear of speaking to Groups
The fear of public speaking is rated as only second to the fear of snakes and before the fear of dying. A great fear that many people have is speaking before a group or audience. The primary reason is that they are afraid of looking foolish in front of other people. The way to overcome this fear is through preparation, a safety net, and a positive attitude toward the audience.
At SpeakUpKids! The goal is to get children to overcome the fear of speaking to a group by making sure they are well prepared, have some backup material ready in case they forget their lines, visualize the audience as not so important, and practice as much as they can before they speak.
Speak to be heard
Similar to adults, kids need to develop skills to communicate effectively. Children get the attention and opportunity to be heard when they speak with confidence.

Speak to convince
expressing orally, the creative thoughts and ideas your child has will give them the opportunity to speak assertively.

Speak to develop and grow
Strong speaking and communicating skills help foster personal growth and develop leadership skills which will be life long assets to any individual.

Speak to have fun
Speaking with humor and the ability to entertain with ease can help children have fun and enjoy and live life to the fullest.
Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the people.” – William Butler Yeats.
A successful speaker achieves the goals of expression, listener satisfaction and desired rewards. At “SpeakUpKids!” we want kids to be aware of their goals as they pursue success in speaking.
